      TRUTHSEEKERS HALL OF FAME

Why Jeremiah Manson Belongs in the TRUTHSEEKERS HALL OF FAME

Jeremiah Manson deserves a place of honor in the TRUTHSEEKERS HALL OF FAME because he transformed extraordinary personal suffering into a life of faith, compassion, and service to others.

At only seventeen years old, Jeremiah was involved in a terrible automobile accident. He lost both legs and the use of one arm, and his back had to be fused together. He endured numerous operations and spent much of his life living in nursing homes. Yet Jeremiah refused to allow his physical condition to destroy his faith or silence his voice.

Instead, he became a determined advocate for nursing-home residents—especially those who could not speak up for themselves. Jeremiah understood their loneliness, fears, and daily struggles because he lived among them. He advocated for better treatment and greater dignity while serving as an administrator for Dignity for the Aged. He was also instrumental in establishing the advocacy group Nursing Home—Light in the Darkness, a name Jeremiah personally helped create.

Jeremiah did more than advocate publicly. He visited residents who had few or no visitors, held their hands, comforted them, and prayed with them. Because of his unwavering Christian faith and his willingness to minister to others, many residents affectionately called him “Pastor.” His life demonstrated that strength is not measured by physical ability but by courage, character, faith, and the willingness to serve others.

Jeremiah also shared his message through programs such as Street Talk with Stiletto and The Truth Seekers 88 News. Through these appearances, he helped bring attention to the conditions faced by nursing-home residents and encouraged others to stand up for people whose voices were too often ignored.

Jeremiah developed a beautiful friendship with singer-songwriter Hank Martin and Hank’s devoted wife, Beth Martin. Hank wrote and performed South Carolina on My Mind, recognized as one of South Carolina’s official state songs. Hank and Beth visited nursing homes and sang for the residents, bringing happiness, music, and companionship into their lives.

After meeting Jeremiah, Hank and Beth visited his nursing home and became close friends with him. Beth went far beyond offering words of encouragement—she personally helped Jeremiah move from one nursing home to another when he needed assistance. Their friendship showed the power of compassion put into action. Following Jeremiah’s passing, their continuing mission of bringing joy to nursing-home residents was named in his honor.

Jeremiah passed away on December 28, 2024, at only thirty-four years of age. His published obituary describes a generous man whose radiant smile brightened every room, whose relationship with God was central to his life, and whose concern for nursing-home residents never faded. He was even working on a book about his relationship with God.

Jeremiah Manson was a truthseeker because he knew firsthand what life inside nursing homes could be like—and he had the courage to speak about it. He sought the truth not for attention or personal gain, but to defend vulnerable people, demand dignity for residents, and inspire others to care.

Jeremiah’s life reminds us that one person, regardless of physical limitations, can become a powerful light in the darkness. He gave companionship to the lonely, prayer to the discouraged, hope to the suffering, and a voice to people who felt forgotten.

For his remarkable courage, his advocacy for nursing-home residents, his generosity toward others, and his unshakable faith in God, Jeremiah Manson should be permanently and proudly honored in the TRUTHSEEKERS HALL OF FAME.

His body endured tremendous hardship, but his spirit remained strong. His work must now be carried forward by everyone who believes that elderly, disabled, and vulnerable people deserve dignity, protection, companionship, and love.
