Marilyn Monroe- a. By Lionel Waldo DeCuir. I found out that Dr. Jolly West was the doctor of Marilyn Monroe in a very interesting way. My wife Diane was Bi-Polar and went to a Psychiatrist in Desoto, TX. on Hampton Road. Her husband was also a Psychiatrist. I would be in attendance on many of Diane’s sessions. I observed that her plaques on the wall said that she got her degree in psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and at the time I was researching Dr. Jolly West. In 1954, at the age of 29 and with no previous tenure – track appointment, he became a full professor and chair of psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. During one of Diane’s sessions I casually brought up to Diane’s Psychiatrist that I knew that Dr. Jolly West taught there. Diane’s doctor immediately blurted out, Did you know the Dr. Jolly West was the doctor of Marilyn Monroe. I did a lot of research on the names of two doctors of Marilyn Monroe who were Greenson (psychiatrist) and Engelberg (personal physician) but could find no ties that they may have had to Dr. Jolly West or Mk-Ultra.
